Gabriel "Gabi"
Knoller's family immigrated to Palestine from Poland in 1932,and he joined the
Haganah as a young boy.
After serving in the British
Army, he joined the Jewish Brigade and was part of the force that took eleven German
prisoners on the Italian front. He first learned about Holcaust atrocities while serving in
Tarvisio, and joined the effort to smuggle survivors to Palestine.
Gabi Knoller lives with his
wife in Haifa where he worked as a teacher and university instructor for many
years.
