As Hitler rose to power
in the 1930's, Europe was rife with anti-semitism -- and many young Jews fled to Palestine to live free.
They carried with them dreams of creating a
Jewish Homeland, but it was not to be so easy. Governed by the British, Palestine was a land in conflict,
and its Arab population also entertained hopes for sovereignty over the land.
