The Jewish Agency in Palestine needed arms to fight its future War of Independence, whether against the British or the Arabs.
Arms were in short supply in Palestine. Amidst the worldwide effort to procure arms legally or illegally, the Brigade played a special role.
In post-war Europe, they stole whatever they could lay their hands on and smuggled them to Palestine for later use.
